Concerned about placing a custom order request online?

Here are some of the reasons you might be putting off placing your order request, and why the concern might be unfounded.

It’s great to have nice reviews like this, but it left us thinking… we should have done better!

Our customer wanted to place the order earlier, what was preventing him? What is potentially preventing you from hitting the button, getting the ball rolling to commission your perfect solid wood desk top, monitor stand, shelving or kitchen island converter?

I’m worried I have measured wrong

Placing an order request is not final.

You have opportunities to amend the measurements before your order is made.

If there is something potentially wrong/unconventional with the sizing of the product, we will flag it up to you immediately and we can have a chat about it.

I’m worried my design is not possible / structurally sound

You’re not a furniture expert… perhaps the wood type is not strong enough, the thickness is too thin, the overhang is of concern or the grommet hole is too close to the edge.

We will review your proposed design and highlight any potential issues.

For more complex designs or products, the CAD team will model your idea and stress test against certain physics engines to ensure balance and load are accounted for, especially for shelving units etc.

I’m not sure on every single detail just yet

Any of the details can be changed right up to production.

There are lots of things to think about: corner radius, grommet hole covers / diameter / location, edge profiles etc.

Perhaps you haven’t decided, or you have questions. The best way to initiate a dialog is to send us an order request, and ask for our opinion. That way we can make a suggestion based on all the information.

It all seems so complicated, I’ll think about it tomorrow

I haven’t got my legs yet

Great news! Legs and frames are retail items and will usually be dispatched much quicker than your top can be tailor made to your requirements.

If you are sure you want a solid wood top, and you know the dimensions, then now is the right time to commission your perfect table top.

I want to see a sample

The sample needs to be as close to reality as possible. Samples are selected along with an order request so the right wood is finished and sent to you for inspection.

If you don’t like the sample, you don’t proceed with the order, and the samples are on us – no charge. You can learn more about the process here.

I still have questions

The configuration tool and order request process give us more context to answer your question correctly.

Create an order request, add your questions to the order notes, or reply to the auto email, and we can discuss any and all of your questions from there.

I’m waiting for payday

An order request is free, and there is no obligation.

If you proceed with the process, a separate invoice will be created, which can be paid in your own time. Generally there is a 7 day payment window, but this can be extended if required. Work will not begin on your order until payment or deposit, but that shouldn’t prevent you from placing the order request today.

My wallet is downstairs, or upstairs, or over there

This website does not handle transactions of any kind. Put your wallet away, or at least don’t bother to find it! You can place an order request without providing any credit / debit / bank information at all.
