Description
The Ikea Trotten range brings the Bekant style office space system to the Skarsta range. It bulks out the range to include many different desk top sizes and frame options. The Trotten manual crank sit/stand desk frame is the same as the Skarsta, but the non sit-stand options do have different bases with different pre-drilled holes requirements.
If you are looking for a budget motor sit/stand desk frame, you might want to look at the Rodulf, or some other options like Flexispot, or mid range sit/stand desk frames.
This product is a high quality, solid wood alternative to the Trotten desk table top. Ikea table tops are often not suitable for use with camera clamps or monitor mounts. The Trotten range also has limited colour options. Upgrade your desk top today!
Learn more about the sit/stand Trotten frame by reading our Skarsta review post or Skarsta Compatible Solid Wood Desk Top. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions to learn about the process we use to make the desk top, the quality of our wood, delivery time scales, maximum load, what’s included etc.
Our sustainably sourced European oak is finished with a high grade oil to bring out the natural colours, our pine is finished with a light brown wax.

What solid wood should you choose?
This is a matter of preference, and also budget. Read about all our wood types here. Oak and pine have their own properties. Oak is a hard wood, whilst pine has hard and soft wood properties. Pine visually has a less tight grain, but still has lots of character. Pine is easier to mark and less glossy to touch and look at, and so you may wish to apply a polyurethane finish. Oak is less likely to mark when spilled on, and has a glossier finish.
