Custom Size Solid Wood Shelves

Description

We can make shelves bigger or smaller than our calculator can generate for you, perhaps look at our custom sized desk top calculator for large sizes, we can also make shelves in walnut, ash, elm, etc at depths thicker or thinner than 23mm to 30mm, contact us if you have specific shelving requirements or questions. If you have a certain profile in mind, i.e. a chamfered or rounded edge, just let us know in the order notes, you can also send a picture of something you like once you have placed your order and we can match it.

Brackets

We do not supply any brackets with our solid wood shelves, meaning you can source the exact style of bracket, at the exact price point you want. Some customers have purchased brackets and sent them to us, we then fit the bracket for them or at least drill the pilot holes. Other customers source the bracket and fit it themselves.

Oak or Pine?

This is a matter of preference, and also budget. Oak and pine have their own properties. Oak is a hard wood, whilst pine has hard and soft wood properties. Pine visually has a less tight grain, but still has lots of character. Pine is easier to mark and less glossy to touch and look at, and so you may wish to apply a polyurethane finish. Oak is less likely to mark when spilled on, and has a glossier finish.
