Description
This solid wood desk top is an excellent alternative to the Skarsta desk top that retails at £30/£50 excluding delivery. All the holes are pre-drilled to the exact same dimensions, so we guarantee a perfect fit. We recommend upgrading your small top further to 80cm depth (rather than the default 70cm), although you can modify the top to almost any size by using our custom top product. Please read our Frequently Asked Questions to learn about the process we use to make the desk top, the quality of our wood, delivery time scales, maximum load, what’s included etc.

Our sustainably sourced European oak is finished with a high grade oil to bring out the natural colours, our pine is finished with a light brown wax.
The top pictured is the non oversized smaller 27mm depth unit.

The Skarsta desk legs cost £160 excluding delivery from IKEA directly, we advise you buy the legs yourself (search for “004.585.55“), then rather than purchasing the standard desk top, buy this beautiful alternative.
Oak or Pine?
This is a matter of preference, and also budget. Oak and pine have their own properties. Oak is a hard wood, whilst pine has hard and soft wood properties. Pine visually has a less tight grain, but still has lots of character. Pine is easier to mark and less glossy to touch and look at, and so you may wish to apply a polyurethane finish. Oak is less likely to mark when spilled on, and has a glossier finish.
